ChotuKool Wins the Gold for Social Impact at Edison Awards

EdisonAwds_GOLDChotuKool, a portable cooling solution from Indian multinational Godrej & Boyce, was awarded the gold seal for best new product in the social impact category at the prestigious 2012 Edison Awards. Celebrating its 25th year, the Edison Awards honor innovative products, services and business leaders, and have become an international symbol of innovation and ingenuity.

ChotuKool was born out of a collaboration between Godrej and Innosight. The team applied innovative thinking and processes to address the problem of food spoilage in rural India, determining that this market needed an affordable, mobile solution to keep food cool for one or two days.

As part of the product showcase of this year's award-winning products, Innosight created an Impact Story video about how the ChotuKool came to be. The video asks the question "How can you innovate to achieve inclusive growth?" and it highlights how new business models are essential for opening emerging markets.
